Marketing feels a bit like throwing spaghetti at the wall. Sometimes it sticks, sometimes it doesn’t, and sometimes what was sticking one minute seems to be falling off the next. So the question we need to constantly ask ourselves is what is sticking today? Is it Google Ads? Social Media campaigns? Eblasts? What was working a few years or even a few months ago may already be out of date. The all-star method “AAAA Self Storage” in the Yellow Pages is unheard of today. However, there are still some tried and true marketing strategies that never go out of style. Sure, the tools may get an update, but the underlying principles remain the same.
Marketing is still about the consumer. It’s about getting your message in front of the eyes of potential customers so they’ll choose your product when they need it. Your message needs to stand out from your competitors and show it will meet their needs better than the next guy. So, how do we do that for the self storage industry in 2024?
